Caroline Guy was elected as Chair of the Board of Directors of the Fondation du Cégep Gérald-Godin. The parent of a student and an experienced professional with a degree in communications and philanthropy, Mrs. Guy succeeds Louis Bossé, who held this position since 2016.
“Education is the wealth of a society and it is with pleasure and enthusiasm that I immerse myself in this mandate as President, a mark of confidence shown by the other members of the Board. As a parent, this cause of supporting Gérald-Godin students in the pursuit of their goals is dear to me since the recognition of efforts is a vector of surpassing oneself. This is where philanthropy plays a crucial role through financial support and the scholarships that contribute to excellence and perseverance among young adults currently shaping their future. And what an honor to be able to participate so actively in the mission of a foundation working within an educational institution that has made its mark over the years on its territory!”
Caroline Guy will be able to count on a renewed team over the past year, notably with the arrival of the general manager, Yves Meunier, and new members of the Board of Directors.

To ensure the transition of projects and organizational memory, Louis Bossé will continue to sit on the board, as will other members who have been involved for several years, Egidio Vincelli, Philippe Voisard and Jonathan Gagné.
Over the past few months, four new people have joined the board: Josée Messier, CPA and parent, Amy Rioux, 2021 CEGEP graduate, Claude Laperrière, committed Desjardins member and Serge Tessier, interim Cégep director general.
In 2021, the Foundation continued its commitment to the Godin community with the awarding of more than 70 scholarships and the establishment of fundraising initiatives such as the Vins et fromages 2021 evening and the sale of olive oil products still in effect.
The General Assembly of the Foundation took place during the last week of January 2022. In particular, the financial statement, the report for the last year and the 2022 action plan will be presented.
