A 38-year-old woman from Saint-Anicet lost her life following a roadway departure accident on Thursday, November 25th at around 5 a.m. on Chemin Ridge in Saint-Anicet.

The reasons for the fatal roadway departure are unknown. Deanna LeBlanc was travelling alone in her vehicle when the tragedy occurred.

Valérie Beauchamps, spokesperson at the Sûreté du Québec, explains that the vehicle left the road and ended its course in the ditch.

“The use of the jaws of life was necessary to get the victim out of the vehicle. The driver was transported to the hospital where unfortunately she was pronounced dead”, explains Mrs. Beauchamps.

A collision investigation patroller was called in to investigate the causes and circumstances surrounding the incident.

When misfortune strikes again

Deanna LeBlanc was a single mother of two teenagers. Misfortune strikes again on this family. In January 2011, the husband and father of the children, Patrick Daoust, was killed when his snowmobile sank in Lac Saint-François in Dundee. The body was recovered on June 15th, 2011 on the shoreline.
