The Maison de la Famille offers a very diverse program | VIVA MÉDIA Skip to main content

It is with great pleasure that the Maison de la Famille Vaudreuil-Soulanges announces the start of its programming for families.

This is an offer adapted to health measures, but very exciting that the new programming is offered. Do you need to get out, do something new, support or take time for yourself? It’s time to choose your activities for fall 2021. Activities run from September to December and registration is ongoing.

An offer for future and new parents

Committed to its community, the MFVS is proud to offer a wide variety of programming with an enhanced offer of its perinatal services. The pregnancy stage and the first months of life with your child is the beginning of a great adventure! The MFVS wishes to guide, accompany and support future and new parents with the addition of its “Devenir parent” program, a project supported by the Ministère de la Famille as part of the “Soutien de participation des parents” program. This project will benefit from the expertise of a perinatal worker, who will support the participants in order to properly prepare them not only for the birth of their child, but also for that of becoming a parent. Each series of practical workshops includes: a birth preparation workshop, a breastfeeding preparation workshop by Nourri-Source, a parenting workshop as well as a postnatal chat.

For France Pomminville, general manager of the Maison de la Famille Vaudreuil-Soulanges, the launch of the perinatal component is done with great pride. “We have always offered services to future parents and in continuity with our mission, we are improving our perinatal component throughout the territory of Vaudreuil-Soulanges. As a former breastfeeding godmother and birth attendant, I had a dream when I arrived at the Maison de la Famille almost five years ago and it is now coming to fruition.” In addition to its new program, the organization will offer perinatal mornings. These mornings will be punctuated with activities such as baby carrying workshops, stroller walks and the return of the breastfeeding pause in collaboration with Nourri-Source. It will be possible to consult a worker and an IBLCL on site and have the baby weighed! A major new feature, the Maison de la famille now offers a sales and rental service to its customers. Families can rent a breast pump, baby carrier or Kangaroo sweater. The Petit Nourri-Source guide is also available for purchase.

A rich and varied program for the fall

The Maison de la Famille is also continuing its regular programming with a strong support in daycare, workshops on language stimulation, early stimulation, Tandem et Les Dynamites activities as well as workshops for dads such as Pères présents, children benefit as well as Dad, step by step. The full range of services and activities is available at www.mfvs.ca
