The City of Vaudreuil-Dorion enforces a maximum capacity of skaters at Parc de la Maison-Valois.

Due to high traffic, the City of Vaudreuil-Dorion is obligated to put in place a reservation system for the skating rink at the Parc de la Maison-Valois. It is in order to comply with government guidelines that the city must limit the number of users. As of Friday, January 15th , the number of skaters authorized at the same time was set at 20. Asked whether contamination had occurred at the rink, Jessica Genest, communications advisor at the Department of Communication for the City of Vaudreuil-Dorion explains that there is no indication that this was the case.

It is important to specify that from now on, only residents of Vaudreuil-Dorion can have access to the rink. Furthermore, in order to skate there, a reservation is necessary. Starting Friday, January 15th , reservations for free skating at Parc de la Maison-Valois must be made online (or by phone) two days prior to the desired time, starting at 8 a.m. Reservations open Thursday, January 14th  for the day of Friday, January 15th .

As for the other skating rinks in Vaudreuil-Dorion, Mrs. Genest indicates that the city does not have to intervene. “The Parc de la Maison-Valois is the only place so far where we noticed a problematic situation since there were too many people for the capacity”, confirms Jessica Genest.

Note that an employee from the City of Vaudreuil-Dorion will be present at Parc de la Maison-Valois to ensure that only residents with a reservation can access the skating surface.
