Patrick Bousez, mayor of the municipality of Rivière-Beaudette, was reappointed by his fellow mayors as prefect of the Vaudreuil-Soulanges RCM.

It was within the framework of the council of the Vaudreuil-Soulanges RCM held on Wednesday, November 17th that Mr. Bousez was unanimously re-elected.

For Mr. Bousez, this vote of confidence is an immense honour and a privilege. “As always, I will carry out this task with seriousness and energy in order to continue to advance our regional projects for the good of the citizens of the Vaudreuil-Soulanges region”, said the reappointed prefect.

Patrick Bousez took his first steps on the council of mayors of the Vaudreuil-Soulanges RCM in 2009 when he was elected mayor of Rivière-Beaudette. Since joining the RCM council, he has been involved in many committees including: the Administrative Committee, the Fire and Civil Safety Committee, the Regional Fire and Civil Safety Table, the Economic Development Table, the Economic Development and Diversification Committee, and the Communications Committee.

In 2017, he was elected as prefect. Since then, he has also served as president of the Table de concertation régionale de la Montérégie, on the board of the Table des préfets et élus de la Couronne-Sud as well as on the board of directors of the Fédération québécoise des municipalités. Mr. Bousez was also awarded the prestigious Prix Jean-Marie-Moreau for his leadership and his dynamism towards the community at the congress of the Fédération québécoise des municipalities in 2019.

Elected officials also appointed Pierre Séguin, mayor of the City of L’Île-Perrot, as deputy prefect of the RCM. “As deputy prefect of the Vaudreuil-Soulanges RCM, I offer my full collaboration to the prefect, in continuity in carrying out his tasks. We will closely monitor regional issues and I am convinced that together we will contribute to the development of Vaudreuil-Soulanges”, says Pierre Séguin, acting prefect of the Vaudreuil-Soulanges RCM and mayor of the city of L’Île-Perrot.

Mr. Séguin has been mayor of the city of L’Île-Perrot since 2017. Since joining the council of the Vaudreuil-Soulanges RCM, he has sat on the Administrative Committee and the Public Safety Committee. In addition, Mr. Séguin has extensive experience in business as well as in the world of arts and culture.
