Recently, the MP of Huntingdon, Mrs. Claire IsaBelle and the Minister of Municipal Affairs and Housing, Andrée Laforest, made an announcement, as part of the brand new Financial Assistance Program for Municipal Buildings (PRABAM). In fact, the sum of $ 3,033,890 will be granted to help 27 Municipalities in the riding of Huntingdon to improve their municipal and community infrastructure.

This new program was created as part of the Action Plan for the construction industry, which aims to boost the economy by accelerating investments from the Quebec Infrastructure Plan (PQI). The sums reserved for the PRABAM are stated in the PQI 2021-2031. It foresees investments of more than $ 7.5 billion in the municipal infrastructure sector under the responsibility of the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing.

“This new program will make it easier to carry out projects for several municipal buildings in my riding. The effects of these investments will be beneficial for our communities and this support will be all the more important, because it is the citizens who will benefit from it. Our government has responded to a call from municipal governments for financial assistance to renovate their municipal buildings. I am very happy for them and especially for the people of our region, who can count on our government to support them in their projects”, underlines Claire IsaBelle, Member of Parliament for Huntingdon and Chair of the Committee on Labour and the Economy.
