On May 24, brothers Chris and Tyler Harden invited the media, partners and dignitaries to officially inaugurate the start of the construction of their new real estate project, Quartier Beauharnois.

As soon as the first phase is completed, scheduled for this fall, the 100th store under the Super C banner, with an area of 35,000 square feet, will open its doors. As for the second phase, scheduled for 2023, other buildings will be available for rent, thus increasing the commercial offer for residents. The project will include three drive-thru locations and patios. The entire project will require an investment of $25 million. The Harden brothers said they were proud of this long-cherished project.

During the inauguration, Mrs. DeBellefeuille, Member of Parliament for Beauharnois-Salaberry, mentioned welcoming this new project with open arms. “Beauharnois has not always had rosy days. For the past ten years, the city has been booming. The development attracts new residents, new businesses that revitalize our environment”.

For his part, Mr. Jean-Louis Tremblay, Senior Vice-President Super C at Metro inc., did not hide his joy with the establishment of this new branch in Beauharnois. In fact, he mentions that he has been hoping for almost twelve years to see Super C settle in this City.

The Harden Family

During his address, Mr. Tyler Harden shared his family’s entrepreneurial story. Founded in 1949, by William and Juliette Harden. “They started with a jewelry store on rue Principale in Hawkesbury. We were retailers first, for a long time. We know the day-to-day work of a retailer. We understand you and we are here to serve you well. In 1975, our father joined the family business. A second jewelry store opened its doors, under the name of La Maison d’or. Our uncles joined the business. In 1985, our father started his first real estate project, in L’Île-Perrot. Then, between 1990 and 1995, he undertook his second project, in the same municipality. At the turn of the year 2000, our uncles decided to stay in the jewelry business. Our father made a change in the family; he traded his two brothers for his two sons. It was in 2006 and 2008 respectively that my brother and I joined the company”.

Thus, by joining the family business, Tyler and Chris Harden focused on the retail side, buying land that they were rezoning. Then, with the help of professionals in their field, they built buildings and rented commercial space to retailers. The Harden brothers manage the projects in their entirety and then ensure the rental component.

“We are a team that is vertically integrated from A to Z and we are here to serve you the right way. We make sure to always use top quality materials. This is extremely important because it is the long-term sustainability that matters to us”, says Tyler Harden.
