Maintenance work will force the closure of the 3rd avenue level crossing at Terrasse-Vaudreuil from Sunday July 19th to Friday July 24th. An important detour will be established and this is not unanimous among the citizens.

Terrasse-Vaudreuil advises its residents that they must plan their trips since the only way to enter or leave the municipality will be by using the Boul. Perrot Nord level crossing.

All types of vehicles, as well as cyclists and pedestrians will not be able to cross 3rd avenue level crossing. The mayor of Terrasse-Vaudreuil, Michel Bourdeau, indicates that all the emergency services have been notified.

“First, it must be said that we have nothing to say about the work, said the mayor of Terrasse-Vaudreuil. The railroad belongs to CN. It has nothing to do with us. The only power we have is to request that signage be put in place to indicate that work is taking place.”

Michel Bourdeau clarified that the work that will take place is to ensure the safety of the railway. “If CN does nothing, people will complain that it is dangerous. When CN is doing work, there are also people who are not happy since it leads to the creation of a detour.”

Passenger train service will remain accessible, but by CP rail. “The work will only take place on the CN track. On the CP side, this has already been done,” said Mayor Boudreau.
