The Vaudreuil-Soulanges Regional Museum invites the population to visit the Museum this summer. Do like the two popular comedians Gildor Roy and Geneviève Schmidt, originally from the region, and commit to visiting your Museum.

During the discussion On jase … culture at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry Vaudreuil-Soulanges, interesting exchanges demonstrated the importance of rediscovering the thousand and one immersive activities to be done in the sector. Thus, the Vaudreuil-Soulanges Regional Museum will welcome visitors every day within the walls of its magnificent heritage building for visits to its four exhibition rooms. An individual or family outing is suggested, in a safe environment and cool air conditioning. Everything has been put in place to make your experience as pleasant as possible, at the same time welcoming, relaxing and entertaining. To do this, all the recommendations of the Government of Quebec and the Labor Standards, equity, health and safety in the Workplace (CNESST) have been implemented to ensure the safety of visitors and employees.

The importance of water as seen by Nathalie Paquette

The artist Nathalie Paquette, who exhibits throughout the summer, offers an audio guide in which she comments on each of her works. You will then be able to discover 34 photos of them accompanied by a written and audio description. In addition, the izi.TRAVEL platform allows you to use the audio guide both at the Museum, as a complement to the visit, and at home, if it is impossible for you to travel.

In fact, in addition to being offered free of charge on smartphones and tablets, it can also be viewed on a computer on the izi.travel/en site. Note that Nathalie Paquette, resident of Saint-Zotique, is the artist associated with the Museum as part of the TRACE project, coordinated by the Conseil des arts et de la culture de Vaudreuil-Soulanges. Through this exhibition featuring water and its underwater species, she wishes to make the public aware of the importance of preserving this resource which covers 70% of the Earth’s surface.

All of her creative work revolves around nature, its colors and textures, particularly marine environments.

Du grenier au salon Exhibition

Available until August 1st , 2021, the Museum’s rich collection includes nearly 9,000 objects, all preserved for the benefit of current and future generations of the reserves, of which some have not had the privilege of remaining in an exhibition room for some time. Witnesses of the seigneurial family or of the First Nations, travel souvenirs and curiosities, musical or medical instruments, piety or commercial promotional items, these important artefacts from the collection leave the reserve for a well-deserved stay in the exhibition hall, or to put more colorfully, they go from the attic to the living room.

À vous de jouer Exhibition

Until December 22nd , 2020, this exhibition features unusual objects from the Museum’s collection that attempt to mystify you by hiding their true identity, infiltrating groups as impostors, or associating with false friends. Will you be able to thwart their schemes? Come and do your little investigation for the pleasure of discovering these mysterious objects.

Par les fenêtres de l’école Exhibition

Proud of its mandate to promote and disseminate the history and art of living of the Vaudreuil-Soulanges region, the Museum presents its permanent exhibition highlighting the history of human occupation and the development of the Vaudreuil-Soulanges territory. Using the heritage building that the Museum occupies and the school setting as a pretext for exploring the region, the exhibition is designed around four themes presenting various facets of the development and history of this vast territory. Through objects and artefacts from the permanent collection and a rich iconography, this exhibition invites you to discover the evolution of different aspects of human activity.
