The Projet Hôpital Vaudreuil-Soulanges ranked 43rd in the top 100 major public infrastructure projects in Canada
The Projet Hôpital Vaudreuil-Soulanges of the CISSS de la Montérégie-Ouest is included in ReNew Canada’s annual list of the 100 largest public infrastructure projects in the country.
The future hospital finds itself in 43rd position of the projects which are classified according to their implementation budget. With its budget envelope of $1.7 billion, the future Vaudreuil-Soulanges Hospital is the 6th largest project among those in the health sector to appear on the list.
The future hospital center, which will be built in Vaudreuil-Dorion, represents a net addition of services to the hospital mission of the CISSS de la Montérégie-Ouest and will make it possible to better meet the growing needs of the population in terms of health care and social services. Thus, the arrival of the hospital will have the effect of improving the quality of life and contributing to the local economic vitality of the entire region.
The completion of this major public infrastructure project will have considerable positive economic impact in the short and long term, including creating jobs throughout the process, from planning to the hospital operation.
The construction site of the Vaudreuil-Soulanges hospital must be active in the coming months. The Société québécoise des infrastructures, in collaboration with the CISSS de la Montérégie-Ouest and the Ministry of Health and Social Services (Quebec), will soon finalize the steps aimed at selecting the contractor for the construction of the future hospital center.
Remember that the new infrastructure of 130,000 m2 will include 404 beds in single rooms, an operating block with 11 rooms and an emergency room with 41 stretchers. The Vaudreuil-Soulanges Hospital is designed to meet high industry standards and to accommodate state-of-the-art medical equipment. The CISSS de la Montérégie-Ouest estimates that it will need to hire more than 3,000 employees, managers and doctors in preparation for the opening of the hospital in 2026.
