Domaine La Belle in Coteau-du-Lac is offering “Week-end tournesols en fleurs”, a unique event that will take place every weekend, from August 21st  until September 6th . Maybe longer if the flowering allows it.

Domaine La Belle has gone to great lengths to allow people to enjoy a visit to its facility which is located at 75 route 201 in Coteau-du-Lac. In addition to accurately predicting when flowering will be at its peak, it is nothing less than approximately 100,000 seeds that have been planted.

“It was a real challenge for everything to happen at the same time. Since a sunflower is in bloom only for 10 days, we planted so that every other row bloom at a time,” explains Céline Delhaes, co-owner of Domaine La Belle in Coteau-du-Lac.

In addition to the traditional yellow sunflowers, it is possible to admire more than 40 varieties of sunflowers as well as twenty varieties of Zinnias.
“They come in different colors and sizes, says Delhaes. People who come to our facility will be able to walk on the specially designed trails and take magnificent pictures. It is also possible to pick sunflowers to bring home a bouquet. We have places that have been set up for U-pick.”

Reservations

Distancing requires people who wish to visit the Domaine La Belle must first make a reservation. “We have a very large field, but since we want people to have a great experience, they have to buy tickets online. Prices are $ 13 for adults, $ 10 for ages 4 to 17 and seniors, and free for children 3 and under. We also have an event on August 29th  called Tournesols Sunset Jam. We are talking about a concept of saxophone, piano and voice in the open field. People can also enjoy tapas with flavors from our farm, a smoothie or a fresh lemonade,” concludes the co-owner.
