On February 26th , Huntingdon County Member Claire IsaBelle announced on behalf of the Minister responsible for Seniors and Informal Caregivers a funding of $ 97,615 for the riding of Huntingdon. This amount follows the 2020-2021 call for projects under the new Programme Action Aînés du Québec (PAAQ).

The sum was shared between 3 selected projects. The organization Les Aidants Naturels du Haut-Saint-Laurent received $ 45,000 while the Projet Communic-Action in Godmanchester received $ 19,275. Finally, the organization Une Affaire de famille, located in Ormstown, will benefit from a sum of $ 33,340.

“The context of the pandemic shows us once again the importance of giving ourselves the means to take better care of our seniors. Every day, organizations here, committed to the elderly, work to offer a variety of activities that contribute to break their isolation and keep them active in their community,” emphasizes Marguerite Blais, Minister responsible for Seniors and Informal Caregivers.
