Having spoken to so many people in the riding in the last few weeks, I would like to take this opportunity to share some of their priorities.

In talking about our young families, we need to offer them the possibility of affordable housing and home ownership in our communities. Every Quebecer deserves a safe and affordable place to call home.

And these families aren’t asking for a free house; they’re asking for a fair shot.

A Liberal government will introduce a Bill of Rights that will ban blind bidding, establish a legal right to a home inspection, stop “renovictions”, and ensure transparency throughout the process. We will also temporarily ban new foreign home ownership to ensure Canadians have access to purchasing homes.

The key is to help renters become owners and save for a down payment faster, reduce the monthly costs of mortgages, and double the Home Buyers Tax Credit from 5 to 10 thousand dollars to help young Canadians buy their first home sooner. The Liberal plan will save a family buying their first home up to $30,000.

We have also demonstrated how well we can work with the Quebec government. Whether it’s about the aerospace industry, creating 37,000 new child care spaces in Quebec, improving working conditions for educators, or increasing access to high-speed Internet, we have proven to be a partner with solutions that delivers for Quebecers.

These deals improve the services provided to Quebecers, and our riding deserves to be sitting at the decision-making table.

We will continue to work in a respectful partnership to ensure that Quebecers get the services they need. This flexible approach is how we will succeed in fulfilling the health care commitments.

Our government delivered during the pandemic. We have been there for people and we will continue to be there.

Actions speak louder than words. while some can only criticize and block our Canadian policies, the Liberals are working with the Quebec government to improve health care for Quebecers with more family physicians, better services in rural areas, and easier access to the system.

I am proud of these policies and know that they will give our families a real chance to succeed.
