The Sentiers de L’Escapade Trails prohibited to citizens living in the red zone | VIVA MÉDIA Skip to main content

The City of Rigaud is forced to review access to the Sentiers de L’Escapade Trails. From now on, only citizens of the Vaudreuil-Soulanges RCM who reside in municipalities that are part of the orange zone (alert mode) are authorized.

Given the recent changes in alert levels related to COVID-19 in Quebec, access to Sentiers de L’Escapade Trails is limited. The City of Rigaud asks all people living in municipalities included in the red zone (maximum alert mode) to respect the instructions of the Public Health of Quebec and to limit their trips deemed non-essential.

Among the towns and municipalities of the Vaudreuil-Soulanges RCM which belong to the territory of the Montreal Metropolitan Community (MMC) and which are located in the red zone, note that of Hudson, Les Cèdres, L’Île-Cadieux, L’Île-Perrot, Notre-Dame-de-l’Île-Perrot, Pincourt, Pointe-des-Cascades, Saint-Lazare, Terrasse-Vaudreuil, Vaudreuil-Dorion and Vaudreuil-sur-le-Lac. All the other municipalities in the Vaudreuil-Soulanges RCM are therefore located in the orange zone and their citizens can access the Sentiers de L’Escapade Trails.

The patrollers of the Sûreté du Québec will be present in the Sentiers de L’Escapade Trails and on the territory of Rigaud, especially during the Thanksgiving weekend, to ensure that the trail regulations are respected, as well as the directives of the Public Health of Quebec. The trail patrollers will take note of the origin of the people they meet and inform the non-residents they meet so that they comply with this new directive.

Also, please note that users of the Sentiers de L’escapade Trails are not authorized to park on Saint-Georges and Bourget roads, adjacent to the trail parking lots. For safety reasons, if a parking lot is full, please go to another official trail parking lot.
