The Council of Ministers approved the appointment of the Director General of Cégep de Valleyfield, Mr. Marc Rémillard, to the Board of Directors of the University of Quebec in Montreal (UQAM).

Mr. Rémillard is enthusiastic about being able to get involved in this important higher education environment. “I would like to thank the Council of Ministers which approved my candidacy as administrator of the board of directors of UQAM. I graduated from UQAM, and it is with immense pride that I look forward to joining their board and thus being able to contribute to the governance and development of this great organization. This contribution is in addition to the many implications of our teams within our partners. Certainly, in my opinion, it is essential that our Cégep ensure a high level of participation with organizations in the education sector so that we are well connected to their realities and thus be able to better respond to them”, concludes Mr. Rémillard.

UQAM recently rolled out a university course offer at the Centre d’études collégiales de Saint-Constant. Thus, this announcement will undoubtedly allow the Cégep de Valleyfield to consolidate links with this university and people in the university environment to better serve the population of the territory.

The management team and the board of directors join their voices in congratulating Mr. Rémillard for this involvement, which will be a source of influence for the Cégep.
