This year, the Sapin du Petit Bonheur will give 750 gifts to underprivileged children in the region. It is the incredible generosity of the regional community and the participating merchants, as well as the collaboration of the little elves of the École secondaire de la Baie-St-François and the dedication of all its members that made this possible.

The successful adventure of the Sapin du Petit Bonheur resumed its activities last November on the promenade of the Centre Valleyfield, thus celebrating its 15th edition. The non-profit organization, which hoped to give gifts this year to nearly 750 children attending some fifty primary schools in the Centres scolaires de la Vallée-des-Tisserands, des Trois-Lacs et New Frontiers, has again reached his annual objective, and it may even consider the return of the project Un Noël en plein été, for 2022, with its distribution of backpacks and school items.

From mid-November to mid-December, the community was able to admire the Sapin du Petit Bonheur which took place on the promenade of the Centre Valleyfield. With its lights off and decorative cards featuring the age and gender of an underprivileged child, this tree of joy lit up every time a visitor came to offer a gift valued at approximately $ 20 to young students identified on the said decorations. For every gift donated, donors had the opportunity to light a light bulb in the tree of generosity. Day after day, the Christmas tree took on all its splendor and shone, just like the eyes of the children to whom the community will allow a Christmas more enchanting and imbued with warmth!

In order to help the project initiators reach their goal, several merchants granted a discount on each purchase aimed at a donation to the Sapin du Petit Bonheur. Once again this year, it was also possible to count on the support of some twenty partner businesses in the region which housed mini-trees with secret identities, thus making it possible to offer a gift to a underprivileged child, on behalf of the Sapin du Petit Bonheur.

This successful adventure is always very proud to be able to count on the generosity of the people of the Vallée-du-Haut-Saint-Laurent to achieve its objectives. The Sapin du Petit Bonheur is a great success every year thanks to the efforts of many elves, supporting businesses in the region.

Remember that each year, the Sapin du Petit Bonheur gives a gift to children from underprivileged families who attend participating elementary schools of the Centres scolaires de la Vallée-des-Tisserands, des Trois-Lacs et New Frontiers. The children’s novel “L’arbre de joie” by Alain Bergeron serves as the inspiration and motivation for this adventure. The Sapin du Petit Bonheur thus solicits the generosity of consumers and socio-economic partners in the region to make Christmas for these young people more magical and festive.
