The Vaudreuil-Soulanges Palliative Care Residence Foundation is preparing for its fundraising campaign, which is held annually as the holiday season approaches.

From November 22nd to 26th, the Residence’s poinsettias will once again be ready to find buyers at the Centre du Jardin Vaudreuil-sur-le-Lac located at 999, avenue Saint-Charles in Vaudreuil-Dorion.

“The holiday season without its flamboyant colors and long life? Out of the question, from the moment we adopted it. The Vaudreuil-Soulanges Palliative Care Residence without all these generous people who are firmly attached to this irresistible red annual poinsettia? Difficult to imagine, so be reassured, it will be possible to obtain them”, recall the instigators and the people in charge of the campaign, Marie Caron and Gilles Hébert.

New this year, poinsettias, on sale for $ 28, can be ordered online at: https://www.jedonneenligne.org/fmspvs/PST21. They can also be reserved at 450 202-2202, extension 128.

Volunteers from the Residence will be able to make the delivery for the purchase of five or more poinsettias. Residents of Salaberry-de-Valleyfield and the region can also purchase poinsettias at the point of sale located at Serres Michaud, at 1305, boulevard du Bord-de-l’Eau in the Grande-Ile sector, but they will be again in limited quantities.

The preparation and delivery of the poinsettias requires more than 650 volunteer hours in one week at the Centre du Jardin Vaudreuil-sur-le-Lac. At the launch of the campaign, Mr. Hébert and Mrs. Caron spoke of the little miracle accomplished each year by this dedicated team. A colossal work that has raised an equally considerable amount of money since 2010 …

Last year was an exceptional year as just over $ 100,000 was raised during this campaign for the benefit of the Residence. “This year, a target of some 2,600 poinsettias sold is achievable to generate profits of around $ 70,000 to $ 80,000”, says Nathalie Blanchet, Director of Philanthropic Development at the Vaudreuil-Soulanges Palliative Care Residence Foundation.
